Here I thought I was the “B” in Studio B but nope…this 2011 Senior Season it stands for “Boys” — really cute fellas this year and Kings High School Senior Phillip is a great example!  Loved this cool blue studio look that is just popping off the screen with his post season tan (which incidentally I’m going to guess that he did not receive here in Seattle given our sun-deficient Summer)

Skyline High School senior Paige just radiates joy and happiness — throw in a big bundle of rainbow colored balloons, her Mom and best friend Emily and now we have party!  The weather has been nutty but in true Seattle fashion the skies opened up for these awesome outdoor shots in the field.

Exotic beauty Prisilia from Mariner High School looks like she stepped right out of a fashion magazine in this shot on the right.  I loved that she dressed head to toe for her Senior Pictures photo shoot because even though the yearbook portrait will just be head and shoulders, we create full portfolios for the kids with tons of poses and variety — having the full outfit just opens up tons of posibilites to get creative.

We went country for Senior Pictures featuring Issaquah High School Senior Griffin.  I’m a sucker for a theme and really embraced the whole down home feel — gotta love the wagon wheel accent with his cool shirt right? Like many of our seniors this season, this is my second go-around with the family for this big milestone (I photographed older brother Hunter for his senior pictures too)

This senior season has been so exciting because we’ve had several siblings of seniors we photographed in previous years.  Like Michelle here   (I photographed her equally pretty sister Kristi) She brought a little bit of the (returning) Seattle sunshine to our studio set during her senior pictures photo shoot and I loved this colorful frame of the Woodinville High School Senior.

“RAWR?” I say.  “Like the lion she tells me”  Ahhhhh, okay, THAT is hysterical and clearly you have a fun personality so I know we’re about to have a good time. This Eastlake High School Senior is equal parts new school Gwen Stefani and old school Debbie Harry — but all parts original Jessie.   I was struck by all of the color in her outfit choices and just how well all of the layering and patterns created a completely cohesive look — she’s a girl you never forget and I think we’re going to see her on the cover of Rolling Stone one day.

I wanted to showcase Skyline High School Senior Sam as our model for this next post because I know we’re kind of  flashy (pun intended ) here at Studio B but I had to laugh when a prospective Senior Mom called and asked “if we knew how to do “classic”  It got me thinking, I need to do a quick little post about creating timelessly beautiful senior pictures.   I think the word traditional got a bad wrap when romping outdoor shots hit the senior scene several years ago.   For me, I love a great dirty brick wall as much as the next professional senior photographer but in my opinion, classic poses and gorgeous lighting are an art that never goes out of style (it’s the reason why I do 2 contemporary studio looks and 2 outdoor looks with every senior session)

We’re celebrating the first day of school with Liberty High School Senior Camille.  An athlete, an artist and so much more, this Class of 2011 Grad made the most of her senior pictures photo shoot bringing a few fun props and I just loved this little “graffiti” shot.

The eyes, the smile, the style — it’s like the fellas of Issaquah High School are in a class all their own.   Loved photographing Jason!  He has a bit of a California-vibe to me and I think I could have replaced this wall with a surf board and he would have looked just as comfortable for his senior pictures.  Only disappointed that I didn’t get a chance to capture him pole-vaulting on film– I hear he’s awesome

Seattle Academy David pulling out all of the stops — mixing a classic upscale look with his contemporary rock-star style.  I love the yin and yang of this blend — reminds me of the celebrities we see work this look in GQ
