The Clark Holiday Family Portraits... some times you have to pivot!
This year we planned to do our holiday family portrait up in the snow but Mother Nature had other plans - bone dry and not a snowflake in sight had us doing a major pivot (think Ross from Friends) so we headed into the city to make memories and a little holiday magic at Enchant Christmas in Seattle. It was chilly and crazy crowded, my husband was the biggest kid of the bunch but as always... we felt blessed in every way. All that being said… I have a confession…
Every year I wonder - “Geez what the heck are we going to do next year?” but isn’t it funny how something always comes together? I decided a long time ago that my true happiness was going to be in all pieces of the process. YES, I definitely want the photogenic reward but these family portraits for our crew have literally become our tradition together. I pitch concepts to my family, they veto. I pick out clothes and my son refuses to wear the shoes. I want to style the girls hair and darn it if they don’t have an opinion about that too but when all is said and done… we ALWAYS have fun and everyone loves looking at the portraits. So with another year under our belts I ask myself - “What are we going to do next time?” (Pretty sure I’m going to eat another dozen frosted Christmas cookies and figure it out later)
A final word… I find myself so full of gratitude for this time of year and having wonderful people in my life. I’m thankful for our clients that have grown with us over the last 13 years and to my amazing Studio B Family that makes it a joy to come to work every day and do what I love. Thank you to Erin and Makayla (below) for being so amazing.
